About the memorial: The memorial is a sandstone cross on a plain block base at the north side of the main road running through the village. It is in a small area enclosed within posts and chains which has been concreted over. The front of the arms of the cross are decorated with a celtic knot pattern. The anmes of those who died and the dedication are on the south side of the cross and its base. The remaining names are on the remaining 3 sides of the base
