About the memorial: Large wooden memorial carved by Estcourt James Clack, 1947, in memory of the 172 Old Blundellians who died in the Second World War. In front of the memorial is a TOC H lamp.

1939-1945. In memory of those who fell. Below the TOC H lamp is the following inscription: BLUNDELL’S SCHOOL THIS LAMP, LIT BY H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AT THE GUILDHALL, LONDON 15TH DEC 1922, IS PRESENTED BY THE TRUSTEES OF TOC H. IN EVER GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THOSE BLUNDELLIANS WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES FOR KING & COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR & THUS SET TO ALL THOSE WHO PASS THROUGH THIS SCHOOL AN ENDURING EXAMPLE OF THAT UNSELFISH SERVICE WHICH, BY GOD'S HELP, TOC H. SETS ITSELF TO PERPETUATE “LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN.” :
