About the memorial: Wooden, rectangular reredos with three panels depicting Biblical scenes and characters.Central panel features Christ on the Cross flanked by angels. Associated, rectangular brass plaque with simple border design. Central Latin cross in red. red and black lettering. The memorial was originally sited in Holy Trinity Church which stood just outside the dockyard when first built. It was destroyed in an air raid in 1941.
