Status: Damaged
Type: Freestanding
Location: External
Setting: Roadside
Description: Other cross
Lettering: Incised
Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: A tapered stone memorial in 4 pieces and topped with a cross, the design is badly affected by the nearly hundred years or so of wind and rain. The memorial to the men who have fallen is in poor condition, the only just discernible words at the top of the panel reads Great War and a list of names that cannot be read. We have asked for a list of the names from the very nice people at the Church and they are going to go through their records to find them, Assessment. This memorial is in Stone and has incised lettering which cannot be read as it is very badly weathered, The surround to the memorial is kept by the local parishioners and fresh flowers are planted each year around the base. It is badly in need of restoration either recutting or a fresh inset list attached to the memorial.
