About the memorial: Slanting desk with hinged glass covering a space holding the Book of Remembrance to Council Employees (in date order with book pages turned every week) with wooden triptych on top containing a glass panel on each wing with the information on the left to Sephton and the right to Elcock. There are 2 glass panels in the centre back each containing a framed information panel. Left panel Petty Officer Alfred Edward Sephton V C R N with photograph, medals and a small plaque and right for Roland Edward Elcock V C, photo, 11th Brigade Royal Scots badge, medals then a Staffordshire Regiment badge (he had enlisted but was discharged as underage signing up a second time with the Scottish Regiment.)

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
