About the memorial: An oblong bronze plaque originally on a white marble backboard. The plaque has a raised border of bound laurel sprigs and the inscription is in upright capital Roman lettering coloured white. At some later date the backboard was replaced by a plain wooden one with chamfered edges. The memorial is on a column at a high level in the middle of the public area of the post office. May 2013: Post Office vacated former premises at 9 Victoria Street and moved to premises in Babington Lane. The memorial was removed and reinstalled at the new site. 1997: Post Office vacated former premises at the corner of Victoria Street and St James Street and moved to smaller premises nearby. The memorial was removed and reinstalled at the new site.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
