About the memorial: A bronze plaque on an alabaster backboard. The plaque takes the form of an unfurled scroll superimposed on a laurel wreath and surmounted by the royal coat of arms. At the head of the scroll the inscription is in raised capital lettering and below it the names are inscribed in yellow paint in capital Roman lettering. The names are arranged in three columns and grouped by unit with officers listed first and other ranks in alphabetical order. The nowy-headed backboard has hollowed upper corners, rebated sides and a reversed curve foot and is of brown and cream mottled alabaster.
