About the memorial: Rectangular metal plaque mounted on a painted wooden board situated on the south wall of the church near to the altar. Although it does not state directly that he died on active service, his name also appears as Sergeant H Lewis on the First Kings Dragoon Guards memorial to those fallen in the conflict. This is sited in the porch of Manchester Cathedral- WMO/70064
