About the memorial: It was decided by a meeting of parishioners in August 1919 to : "place in the Parish Church a brass tablet bearing the names of the eight West Deeping men who made the supreme sacrifice in the war... As the appeals for subscriptions have been generously responded to it is thought that it may be possible also to renovate the village reading room" Located on the east wall of the nave to the right of the chancel, the brass plaque was dedicated in March 1920, as reported in the Boston and Spalding Free Press: "On the occasion of the visit of the new Bishop of Lincoln last week to perform a confirmation ceremony, the war memorial which the inhabitants have placed in the Parish Church at West Deeping was unveiled and dedicated to his Lordship."
