About the memorial: The memorial was originally in the first St Wilfrid's School which stood at the corner of Church Road and South road in Haywards Heath. The school moved to its present site in 1951 and the memorial with it. It is affixed to the wall of the corridor near the Assembly Hall. Names are arranged alphabetically and on panels above and below which are further inscriptions. There are 75 names, one teacher (John McG. Mitchell) and 74 ex-pupils. Overall in good condition but with a split in one of the panels and some shifting of the beading between two of the panels.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
