About the memorial: This plaque in the Grove commemorates the Army Film & Photographic Unit formed in 1942 without which we would not have had still and movie film coverage of the Second World War. They often worked behind enemy lines with Allied Special Forces especially in Yugoslavia. Such was the extent of their dangerous work armed only with a camera that they lost 23% of their unit strength by the end of the war in Europe and the Far East. This commemorative plaque is set in Garden 3 on the treeline just above the Dieppe Raid Memorial which commemorates the Canadian Army and everyone who fought at Dieppe in 1942.
