About the memorial: This memorial is best reached by walking from the Station car park in The Highway. Follow the track, keeping to the left. It is almost straight across from the gate in the hedge leading to Court Farm on the other side of Warren Road. You can also walk down through the open space from Court Road. The section of Warren Road which adjoins the open space is narrow with no pavements or parking opportunities.

In memory of Sergeant JOHN HUGH MORTIMER ELLIS R.A. F.V. R. of No. 85 Squadron who lost his life near this spot on 1st September 1940 in Hurricane P2673 He was 21 Years old One of Churchill's Few memorial dedicated on 17 May 2008 by the Shoreham Aircraft Museum
