About the memorial: The memorial is a stained glass window in the west end of the north aisle of the church. The window is a five light window, in the tracery above the window are 8 shields of the Commonwealth and Home nations. The flags of U.S.A., Belgium, France & Japan are in the top of the outside lights. The figures in the lights (from L to R) are 1. An Archangel, 2. A Knight being awarded his helm by an angel, 3. A figure of Christ giving a blessing, 4. A figure of a Knight being given the sword of truth and the shield of faith, 5. A figure of an angel awarding a crown. There is a suggestion in the church that the figures of knights are meant to be Sykes and Charlesworth, referring to the less realsistic figure of Charlesworth. A band crosses the base of the five lights "Take unto you the whole armour of God" & "I will give thee a crown of life".
