About the memorial: Positioned on a wall near the main altar in the wonderful and historic church of St Padarn, this memorial commemorates the life and sacrifice of a young officer of the Welsh Guards regiment. Leut Powell was killed during the attack on Amfroipret, France on 6th November 1918, just 5 days before the guns fell silent. The memorial is cleverly and skilfully sculpted, displaying the officer's ceremonial headgear and sword of the Welsh Guards at the time.
