To the Glory of God and in loving memory of Lieutenant Commander Henry Layard Street, Royal Navy, who lost his life when HMS Formidable was sunk in the channel by an enemy submarine on 1 Jan 1915 aged 33 years. He was the dearly loved husband of Constance Street, eldest son of Henry William and Barbara Street and grandson of Henry Street Esq, late of Birtley in this parish.
