About the memorial: just inside the path leading up to the church in a small garden area is a sandstone cross with inscription around 3 sides of the 8 sided cross set on an older plinth. The wording seems very freshly cut so that section may be more modern. on top of the 8 sided column is a 4 sided elongated decorative sandstone header with a calvary cross and Christ figure on the side facing the path
