About the memorial: The memorial is a framed roll of honour, hung on the wall of the chucth to the morth of the chancel arch. It is a pre-printed sheet with a design of a banner across the top, printed in red and then a border of oak leaves and acorns in white on a black background on which are 5 shields with devices in red (The helmet of salvation; the breastplate of righteousness; the shield of faith; the sword of spirit; a belt and winged feet "Girt about with truth & feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace". The design bears the initials D.W.
