About the memorial: Family memorial to son who fell in the First World War. His name also appears on the Roll of Honour and the brass plaque in the church. Lettering incised in marble, mounted on a stone plaque and attached to the right hand wall of the nave close to the chancel. The lettering is picked out in black and some has faded.

In Loving Memory of Albert Edward Brain, Lance Corporal 8th Somerset Light Infantry, the third beloved son of Walter and Emily Brain of this parish who was killed in action at the battle of Loos on 26th September 1915 aged 19 years. A good soldier of Jesus Christ and the King.
