About the memorial: A wide, rectangular, two tier Portland stone plinth (showing name of company, badges of the cavalry regiments and dedication incised on their front side) with a set of black railings on top (to reflect those in Birdcage Walk) supporting five metal plates with the regimental badges, in relief, of the Household Cavalry. On the other side of the plinth are mottos of the individual regiments. The memorial stands on a paved area which incorporates coloured, interlocking paving stones on each side( Scottish granite, Welsh black slate, English granite, Irish marble) to reflect the tight bond between the countries of UK. Nearby is an information board. Dedicated in 2001.
