TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF MORDAUNT CHARLES BOYLE MAJOR KINGS ROYAL RIFLE CORPS WHO DIED AT KUROT ON THE NILE ON THE 5TH MAY 1885 IN THE 35TH YEAR OF MHIS AGE WHILE A BRIGADE MAJOR IN THE NILE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE, THIS PLAQUE WAS PLACED HERE BY HIS BROTHER RIFLEMEN TO RECORD THEIR ADMIRATION FOR HIS QUALITIES AS A SOLDIER AND THEIR REGRET FOR THE LOSS OF ONE WHO WAS LOVED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM
