About the memorial: Memorial is no. 313b in Green Zone on right-hand side of The Beat leading towards the Polish Forces War Memorial. A stunted obelisk, with badges of the Army Air Corps, Glider Pilot Regiment and Air Observation Post Squadrons on its sides, set on a square plinth with the name of the Corps incised on its front. Mounted on top is a bronze sculpture of an eagle and crown representing Army Aviation. The memorial stands on a circular, brick edged shallow platform. Over 150 members have died since its formation in 1957 as an amalgamation of previous separate units.
