About the memorial: Bronze Plaque in a wooden frame with the names of the 65 fallen. At the top is the Burning Bush and the Campbell motto 'Ne Obliviscaris' (Do not forget). At the bottom is a gaelic dedication which was composed by Rev Gillespie Campbell, Minister of the Gaelic congregation, and translates as (Their name and their fame will last forever; a stone on the cairn of memory of the heroes). Below is a copper plaque decorated with an embossed 'Galley of Lorn' -the sign of the Dukedom of Lorn[e] & part of the arms, above a small lectern with a book containing on vellum, the names of all who served in the War. (There are 216 names)
