In proud memory of my dear and only son William Ernest Worner R.A.C. (Hussars) killed in the battle for Ancona, Italy 5th July 1944 and laid to rest in Morro River Cemetery, near Ortona, aged 20 years. He is not dead he could not die. So young he was and gay, so gallant and so brave a soul could never pass away. And though I cannot see his face I know he walks with me, free in the everlasting light of immortality.

William Ernest Worner
