About the memorial: Brass plaque in a wooden frame. Originally in Brunswick Weslyan Methodist Church, Chapel Street, Macclesfield. The church closed in 1986 and has been converted into apartments. The plaque is now in Christ Church, Bridge St, Macclesfield SK11 6EG. Christ Church is a redundant Anglican church and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust and the Roe-naissance Group. It is open to visitors at advertised times.

This memorial was placed here in loving and undying memory of 1218592 A/C James Edward Higginbotham R A F V R of this church who gave his life in the cause of freedom and justice 1939 – 1945. Died 4th December 1942. His ashes lie in Kure Military Cemetery, Japan.
