About the memorial: Leeds was a major hospital centre in both World Wars. The CWGC memorial in the form of a Cross of Sacrifice, designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield (1856-1942), is situated 100m north-east of the Anglican entrance, along Memorial Way. There are 67 graves from the First World War in the cemetery and 4 from the Second.
