About the memorial: There is no memorial in Saxon Street, the men from that village are incorporated with Woodditton. Central to two rectangular panels is a depiction of St George in armour, sword in hand, under the saltire of St Andrew, the Cross of St George and the saltire of St Patrick, he is stood over the dragon. The inscription and names read horizontally across both panels, incised and gilded, the font is an ornamental form
