About the memorial: Three sections with list of names on the two wings including rank, regiment and decorations. In solid wood fixed to the wall in The Trust Building within the hospital complex at quite a height. In good condition however the building entrance it is located in is subject to high temperatures from radiator heat. The building is dated 1909 and the memorial 1920. Owned by the North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. In 1834 the Poor Law Amendment Act came into effect. This collected parishes into groups called Unions. Each Union elected a Board of Guardians, which was then responsible for the care of the poor across all the individual parishes. Workhouse opened here in 1840, hospital in 1910, transfer to NHS upon its creation in 1948.
