About the memorial: There is no such church on Woolwich Road, Charlton, today. Looking at online Methodist records, the existence of this church seems to cease in 1940. Given that the church was in an area which was a prime target for the Luftwaffe, the conclusion seems obvious. If anyone reading this has information which suggests that the memorial may have survived, please make a note of it here.
