About the memorial: Central cross in the cemetery attached to the Queen Mary's Military Hospital - housed in the County Asylum, Calderstones Hospital, at Whalley. WW1 - central plaque, commemorating all 286 who died at the Hospital, with two alongside carrying the names of the 33 WW1 casualties buried in the cemetery. WW2 - plaque carrying the names of the nine WW2 casualties buried in the cemetery.
