About the memorial: The memorial is a grey marble tablet on the north wall of the aisle. It commemorates two brothers who died abroad, George who died in India in 1889 and Stephen who died in South Africa in 1901. There are two portarait medallions signed Fuchs 1901 on white marble facing each other. The incised lettering has been coloured in gold.

Left: George Lieut Kings Royal Rifles born at Newburgh, Nov. 1. 1865 died at Meerut India, Jan. 18. 1889, and buried there. Right: Stephen Frederick Captain 3rd Batt. Imperial Yeomanry born at Newburgh, Feb. 19. 1867, died at Vryburg S. Africa, Feb.1. 1901, and buried there. Centre base: This tablet is erected by the tenantry on the estates of Sir George Orby Wombwell, Bart. in loving memory of his two sons who died in the service of their country. Thy will be done.
