About the memorial: Memorial with three parts in memory of the Old Boys of the school; central panel has a bronze plaque with raised lettering and the left and right timber panels have incised lettering, Located in the main hall no the ground floor of the school building. Addition of copper(?) plaques on the left and right panels. School project has places lots of paper poppies around the memorial.

Left panel: They went to the battle. They were young. Straight of limb. True of Eye. Steady and aglow. (Plaque with names) Central panel: In memory of the Old Boys of Southbury School who laid down their lives for us in the Great War 1914-1918 (names) Right panel: They were staunch to the end against the odds uncounted they fell with the faces to the foe. (Plaque)
