About the memorial: Rectangular plaque with nowy top and base. White marble with border of pink-veined marble. Regimental badge top centre in relief. White roundels in each corner. Black lettering. Henry Verney died in a boating accident whilst on active service. Another member of his family is commemorated on the same memorial.

In memory of Henry Verney 2nd. Lieutenant VIIth. Hussars born June 19th. 1870. Drowned at Poonah with two of his brother officers June 25th. 1893. And of Katharine Verney born July 3rd. 1874, died July 28th. 1897.
