About the memorial: The memorial is a brass plaque on the inside wall of the church. It is linked to the provision of lych gate which was erected at the entrance to the churchyard at the same time as the plaque was put in place. A smaller section of the plaque at the bottom commemorates service personnel who died in the Second World War

"To the Glory of God and the memory of the Officers and Men from this Parish who were killed in action or died of wounds or disease in the Great War 1914 - 1918 the lych gate in the churchyard was erected by the parishioners" In the lower half of the plaque, the inscription says: "And in memory of the men who gave their lives in the Second World War 1939 -1945" At the bottom of the plaque under the names it says: "When you go home, tell them of us and say, For your tomorrow, we gave our today"
