About the memorial: This is purpose built Scout Hut with space for further lettings. In the entrance is a Nowy styled board, gold border and scout badge in gold top centre. lettering in black. Additionally, a minibus is included and dedicated to the PO Quayle. Significant research has been undertaken by a member of the Scout Team and is available in the Scout Archives.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

This building is dedicated to the memory of/ Pilot Officer Peter Quayle/ 1923 - 1943/ Peter joined 1st Bispham in 1937, in 1939 he became Troop Leader, a position/ he held until 1941, when, at the age of 18, he honoured his Scout Promise to/ do his duty volunteered for the Royal Air Force/ As a Pilot in Bomber Command he completed several missions before being/ shot down over Germany in 1943./ In 2006, his sister, Mrs Gloria Eastwood, left almost her entire estate/ to 1st Bispham in her brothers memory./ Her legacy financed the extensive building work completed in 2014/ We will be forever grateful./ LEST WE FORGET
