About the memorial: Wooden Lectern with a carved angle on the front, and a brass dedication plaque on the base. Peter Mayne Beswick was the brother of my great grand mother, Matilda Alice Beswick. He died at see during the second world war where he served in the British Royal Navy. He sailed along side my great grand father, Johan Peter Skov on the ship M.S. Amerika, where they worked as telegraph operators. The memorial is placed at the church as it is the church Peter used to attend. Matilda met Johan through Peter as he used to vacation at their family residence during their leave of absence. Matilda and Johan ended up getting married the 28th of february of 1945 and later moved to Denmark where they lived for the rest of their lives. (Written by Milena Beswick, Great grand daughter of Matilda Alice Beswick)
