About the memorial: Plaque with the name who served and returned or died. On the north wall of the nave 1640mm from the floor is a carved English oak tablet, with a frame of laburnum wood, 692mm high x 538mm wide and a built up thickness of 55mm, the corners of the boarder have the year 19 14 at the top and 19 18 at the bottom. The centre panel is lighter in colour and is inscribed in red and black lettering with a blue illuminated O. Unveiled by the Rev'd P. Clay vicar of St Nicholas, Lincoln, it was designed and carved by Mr. Garland master of the School of Art, Lincoln
