About the memorial: Stands next to the village war memorial 12 Sqn Lancaster ME323 PH-P had departed Wickenby on 03-04/03/45 for a routine night training flight It was intercepted near Hull by a Luftwaffe Intruder aircraft captained by Lt Gunther Wolf (IX/NJG5) and shot down for his 4th Abschusse at 0108. The aircraft crashed between the villages of Stockwith and Blyton at 0110. All seven crew were killed. This was one the many victims of the Luftwaffe’s infamous Unternehman Gisela when a great many Luftwaffe aircraft infiltrated the stream of Bomber Command aircraft returning to the UK from Ops Kamen and followed them back to the UK and inflicted a last ditch severe attack - but at great cost

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
