About the memorial: The Roll of Honour booklet produced by the North Eastern Railway Company in April 1919 in memory of the 1912 former employees who lost their lives in the Great War. A copy was presented to the family of each of the men. This is one of those copies, presently owned by a relative of one of the men who died. The booklet consists of a card cover, a similar title page, a Foreword of two pages, and forty pages of names.
