About the memorial: John Benjamin Rand is buried in Montay British Cemetery Proposed by out petitioner John Edward Catlin of Rand to provide and place a memorial tablet on the north wall of the nave of the parish church of Rand in memory of his son John Benjamin Catlin who was killed in action in France in the Great War. That the said tablet is to be of Marble and about two feet by about one foot four inches. Faculty Book 13, page 556, dated 11-5-1920
