Setting: Within a garden/park/churchyard/enclosure/Marketplace
Description: Wheel cross
Lettering: Inscribed on a plaque
Conflicts:
  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: Large rectangular flat platform-type step incorporating a lower skirt and overhanging upper face, supporting a single-stepped octagonal base surmounted by an octagonal sectioned plinth, moulded octagonal bolster, octagonal sectioned tapering shaft and integral cross. Incised inscription and names on three side faces of plinth. The IWM Register entry, which may be based on old data, says the inscriptions are not legible. But it is clear from photographs that stone panelling has been added with names and inscriptions, now showing 14 WW1 names and 4 WW2.
