About the memorial: Locally quarried stone from the Smiddy Burn Quarry a short distance outside Rothienorman taking the form of a typical Scottish Cairn. Can be viewed from the road side however, it is better appreciated by entering the Wetland Walk by the main entrance off the B9001. It can be approached from various pathways each offering a different view and perspective. The pin position shown on this web page is a little speculative but the village is small enough for it to be easily enough found.
