About the memorial: The memorial is a marble plaque on the north wall of the choir. It has two scrolls back to back forming a pediment and between which is a torch. It is supported on two leaved brackets. The makers name is Waudby, York This is identical to Reference WMO257893 at St. Mary's Church, Newgate, Barnard Castle DL12 8NQ and also another memorial at Raskelf

This tablet is erected to the memory of Augustus Ferederick Cavendish Webb Esqr. Captain 17th Lancers; who died on the 6th. of November 1854, aged 22, at the Hospital Scutari, from wounds received in the brilliant charge of the Light Cavalry Divison, on the 25th. of October 1854, at the memorable Battle of Balaklava. It is equally intended as a mark of deep sympathy with, and affectionate respect for every member of his family, by the tenants of his only and elder brother, William Frederick Webb Esqr.
