About the memorial: IWM REGISTER ENTRY - A Fleury Cross in stone, with up-ended sword supporting a laurel wreath to the front face. The cross is set on rectangular section, tapered plinth with an inscription to the front, the whole is set on one step. To the rear is a curved wall containing a VC Commemorative stone plaque. The area around is paved. I HAVE ENTERED THIS MEMORIAL FROM THE IWM REGISTER BUT WOULD WELCOME VERIFICATION. THERE IS A PROMINENT OLDHAM WAR MEMORIAL STATUE AND OTHER FEATURES ON THIS SITE AND I CAN FIND NO PHOTOGRAPHS OF THIS MEMORIAL OR SIGN OF IT ON GOOGLE STREET VIEW.
