About the memorial: The site is a long walk in remote and tough terrain from the Cairngorm Ski Centre and is near the summit of Ben MacDui. There is no road access. It is about 11 miles south east of Aviemore. Stone Cairn with metal plaque attached. According to the geograph photographer, some of the wreckage is still visible.
