About the memorial: this plaque is formed with a painted white stone "table" base with three square legs supporting a narrow (approx. 300mm) ledge with a central circular projection (used to hold flowers). the base is approximately 1.5m wide and 800mm tall. On the ledge sits a white stone section approx. 200mm high with projecting text reading "all honour give to those who nobly striving nobly fell that we might live". above this level the material changes to pink/grey marble which creates a framework with the central top stones being inscribed 1914-1918. Within the framework is a white stone inscription which includes the text "...in thankful remembrance of the men of this church...". below this stone is a brass plaque listing the names of those who "...returned not again...". Above this framework is a smaller pink/grey marble framework with the date "1939-1945" inscribed centrally at the top edge and another brass plaque within listing more names.
