About the memorial: A very large wooden board fixed to the wall of the Main Hall of the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. The inscription states it to be the Edinburgh Corn Market Great War Roll of Honour. It displays many names (c.270) in gold lettering. At the top of the board is a decoration comprising the shield from the Scottish version of the Royal Coat of Arms set in an ornate carved wooden surround which includes a crown.
