About the memorial: Framed Photograph. The Wigtownshire Free Press 13 April 1916 reported the unveiling of a memorial to former teacher George G Campbell in the Central Hall of Stranraer Academy. He had enlisted with the KOSB and was severely wounded at Loos. He was evacuated to hospital at Dublin but died there. Since then the school has moved location. He is named on Lybster War Memorial (WMO/193820- as that was where he was from) and the University of Glasgow Roll of Honour (WMO/249876). The building now appears to be the Dumfries and Galloway College (Stranraer Campus).
