About the memorial: Wooden board with brass plaques (see photo). According to the Scottish War Memorials Project discussion thread - Munro & Co were a textile firm who opened a factory in the Restalrig area of Edinburgh in 1899. The old Munro & Co. Factory is still in place in Loaning Mills, Restalrig, but the company was taken over by Kinloch Anderson in the 1970's and the factory closed in the 1980's. It seems that at least part of the site has become residential.
