About the memorial: The memorial was a book of remembrance on a large, ornate oak stand. According to the Scottish War Memorials Project discussion thread (see link) - "A few years ago I asked where it was and I was shocked to discover it had been BROKEN UP. "The person in charge told me he had been authorised by the then LABOUR COUNCIL CONVENOR to destroy it as "IT TOOK UP TOO MUCH SPACE ." I am sure many will regret that it is not available at this time. A subsequent contributor observed that -"Dundee really does have an awful record of demolishing stuff they really shouldn't have...." Photo from Friends of Dundee website (see link) But note that the City Book of Remembrance [also held by the McManus] contains exactly the same information-WMO/277355
