About the memorial: The memorial is a brass plaque on the north wall of the sanctuary. There is a decoartive border of diamond saheps some of which have a rose emble. Within this are two bades, top left the Yorkshire Hussars and bottom right the Royal Flying Corps.

In proud and grateful memory of William Harold Ryder. Lieut. Yorkshire Hussars and Royal Flying Corps; third son of Charles Foster & Anna Ryder; who fell whilst serving in France at Warloy Baillon. "If I should die think ony this of me, that there's some corner of a foreign field that is forever England."
